It doesn't necessarily follow that Jenna Ortega and Johnny Depp are dating just because they've collaborated with Tim Burton.
When asked in a BuzzFeed video what is the wildest rumor she has heard about herself, the 21-year-old "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" star brought up rumors that she was "in a serious relationship" with 61-year-old Johnny Depp.In response to the relationship rumor in an Instagram story last year, Ortega was cited in several news stories, purportedly commenting, "This is so ridiculous I can't even laugh." In my life, I have never met or collaborated with Johnny Depp. Please leave us alone and quit spreading misinformation."
However, Ortega appeared to suggest in the BuzzFeed interview that not only were the relationship rumors untrue, but also the earlier statement in which she denied them.
She remarked on the video, "It's so insane to me." "I never mentioned it. That's not anything I've ever said. Although articles essentially just fabricate quotes, I found that to be rather humorous."
The "Scream" actress also disclosed that she was questioned about the story on site by her co-star Richard E. Grant, with whom she was collaborating on the next film "Death of a Unicorn," because it had become so popular.
"He came up to me and he just said, 'Oh, so you and Johnny?'" stated Ortega. "I laughed because I don't know that person."
"Horrible" is how Jenna Ortega describes the "dirty edited content" she was given when she was younger.
Both Ortega and Depp have collaborated with renowned director Tim Burton. The woman portrayed the lead role in his Netflix series "Wednesday." In the meanwhile, Depp has gained recognition over the years for his parts in a number of Burton productions, including "Alice in Wonderland," "Ed Wood," and "Edward Scissorhands." Ortega reunited with Burton for the follow-up "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," which hits theaters on September 6.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, the former Disney Channel star disclosed that she had quit X, the old Twitter, after receiving artificial intelligence-generated, phony pornographic images of herself from her childhood. She also discussed attempting to keep her personal life private while becoming well-known on the Times' "The Interview" podcast.
"I was a private person, and I prefer to be a private person, so I think understanding that there's a lot more eyes and a lot more people watching — and I'm so underdeveloped!" she stated. "My prefrontal cortex isn't even fully there yet, technically, you know?"
